One of the things that I've always found enjoyable about my job is the opportunity to see places that a lot of people may not normally get to see.  This week I've been shooting for both of Lethbridge's higher learning institutions.  Lethbridge College hired me to work on a series of 12 videos for the College that documents the incredible variety of courses they offer.  It really is quite amazing the types of programs that students can enroll in and turn into fulfilling careers.

It's been a long project that will wrap up this spring.  The results will end up on their website to help future students determine what is involved in the course that they are interested in.  Shooting on Tuesday started in the environmental science lab where the dissection of rats was the lesson of the day.  The afternoon shooting was for the business program and involved a business student with her hand on a mouse.  It was kind of related but the mouse was of the electronic variety!

The week wrapped up with two days of shooting at the University of Lethbridge. The Advancement office is staging an alumni dinner in Calgary later this month honouring Team Canada head coach, Mike Babcock.  When he was last around the campus, Mike was leading the Pronghorns Men's Hockey team to a national championship.  They wanted to have a video that showcased the connection that the students of the UofL have with their programs, their professors and the University itself.  Shooting was fast paced and involved maneuvering a dolly of several hundred pounds of gear up and down the campus and into every nook and cranny.  We were given the insiders tour of the university as we went about our shooting.  They have many incredible professors and cutting edge programs that are positioning grads for a very bright future.  Post-production continues this week and we should have a DVD ready for them shortly.
