Technology is a funny thing.  Could anyone have imagined that we would be shooting video and high quality video no less, on a stills camera?  It wasn't that long ago that we weren't even sure about the prospect of a decent image from a digital camera. The first version I used over 10 years ago, produced images that looked like they were from a pocket 110 film camera from another time which had been left outside all summer.

To Tadoussac and back

Just got back from a great shoot in la belle province, at Tadoussac.  I have to be honest that before I went I didn't know much about the community and the name only vaguely rang a bell.  Well it turns out to have a little history behind it.  It was France's first trading post on the mainland of New France and an important trading post in the seventeenth century, making it the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in Quebec, and the oldest surviving French settlement in the Americas.  The little red roofed church in Tadoussac is the oldest church in North America and was built in 1747.

Lethbridge greets the Stanley Cup

There have been two events this year that have generated a huge amount of excitement for the residents of Lethbridge.  The Olympic Flame coming through in January was one and the arrival of the Stanley Cup is the other.

Just wrapped up the photography for the American Legion Baseball Media Guide.  I was contracted to shoot the head shots of both the Lethbridge Spitz Elks and Miners this year, as well as the team photos and program cover.

It's 10 o'clock, do you know where your data is?

Memory cards, flash drives, smart phones.  We are living in a world where we have an ever increasing amount of data bombarding us from every direction.  Our computers are churning it out minute by minute.  Digital cameras can record more shots than they ever have before.
